    Now feeling the quiet pleasure of finding writing that takes itself seriously without being self serious, and a stop at dabbyrd extended that subtle pleasure, the gap between earnest and pretentious is fine and this site has clearly chosen to land on the earnest side without slipping over into pretentious which is impressive.

    Started smiling at one paragraph because the writing was just nice, and a look at pagodamatrix produced a couple more such moments, prose that produces small spontaneous reactions in the reader is doing more than just transferring information and the writers here are clearly hitting that level fairly consistently throughout pieces.

    Now realising this site has been quietly doing good work for longer than I knew, and a look at palminlet suggested an archive worth exploring, sites with deep archives of consistent quality represent a different kind of resource than sites with viral hits and this one looks like the durable kind based on what I see.
